TO KILL AN ELEPHANT

I stand at the base of this mountain, asking myself, can I climb?

At the edge of this dense forest, I question my ability to traverse to the end.

Scared of the snakes, and the savage animals I might encounter.

Thoughts that will make you give up.

It's always the starting point that gives the chills.

"To kill an elephant, a deed so bold,

Requires a heart of stone, a soul grown cold.

For in its death, a piece of us dies too,

A part of nature, lost, forever true"

Day to day, we face challenges, life's labyrinth, so deep and arduous.

Paths we walk on are full of uncertainties, cold lakes giving cold feets.

Yet we must gather courage to step forward because it is times like this we discover our true strength.

Just like a boat on a stormy sea, life tosses us about and we are to ride these waves with all boldness.

If we leverage the fears the tempest put in us into strength, there is a promise of joy that awaits us.
